“We gathered more than one quote for replacement windows from some Atlanta contractors- several of our windows are standard size but one was a very large convex bay window (circa late 60’s). There was little depth to it but it covered the entire expanse of the wall at the end of the kitchen – an important focal point in the most frequently used room in the house. There is also a pretty view as it is on the second story and is eye-level with dogwood and hardwood trees. I did not want to lose the view but I wanted a window seat without increasing the depth or simply ending up with a box sitting under the window – obviously homemade and an afterthought. Hal listened to me carefully and took notes and asked a few questions and assured me he understood my “vision”. I must admit I was skeptical but I was resigned to just hoping that I could live with the result.
I am pretty particular and I admit that I rarely look at work and think that there is nothing I wouldn’t improve or tweak or alter in some way. Usually a small detail is what catches my eye and it may not even be noticeable to another but it becomes all I can see and my eye travels there automatically. I end up living with it but I always notice it and have come to expect this. This experience was different. The care that was taken with building the seat – including every facet from the quality of the materials to the finest detail of the design and the pride taken in the finishing phase – was not like the usual level of customer satisfaction to which I have become accustomed. There are times I can’t help but wonder if things are ever delivered as promised, especially in the areas that demonstrate a work ethic of pride and ownership. The window seat was simply beautiful and was exactly as I had imagined it and how I communicated I hoped it would look. It is perfectly constructed without a single flaw. The windows are beautiful and provide perfect filtering so that what was once a hot room with a glare is now always comfortable and provides an enhanced view of the trees because of the light filtering inherent in the glass. Cob webs plagued us before – in bad places that couldn’t be reached and a constant battle. The cleaning is unbelievably easy and I did not realize how much that would matter to me until I had to clean them the first time. Hal not only surpassed my expectations with the artistry and attention to detail for the window seat but delivered exactly what he promised when he promised it and also gave us a name of someone to create the particular look I wanted for the wood seat and that person also performed his work in a professional, responsible and timely manner. He also specifically worked toward my vision and did not consider it finished until it was exactly as I wanted it. The experience was effortless and predictable and satisfying from the beginning to the end. I love the seat because it looks as if it has always been there and updates the last remaining vestige of the retro look without forfeiting style and aesthetics. I couldn’t be happier with Window Replacements of Georgia and Hal! We will systematically allow them to replace all our many windows over the coming months. Without hesitation I recommend their work for windows and for customizing if necessary.” – Cindi M.
